Dear Editor: At Christmas, many people reflect nostalgically on the good old days when the North Shore had more sense of community, and everyone knew their neighbours.

Christmas season is full of stories – from the classic Christian nativity to Sinterklaas to Saturnalia. The power of stories this time of year is what makes the season so special to so many, regardless of their background or creed.

Dear Editor: I find it fascinating that we have two North Vancouver municipal governments and all the related duplicated services and TransLink cannot find enough space for a suitable bus depot that can handle the future needs of the North Shore.

Here it is Christmas Day. Once again I still haven’t finished shopping, and I’ve sent out exactly one Christmas card. Sigh.

Dear Editor: Perhaps I was feeling unusually “grinchy” on that day before Christmas two years ago, or perhaps the shopping, crowds and over-the-top Christmas hoopla had finally got to me.

Whether you’re celebrating Christmas or not this time of year, everyone has their traditions. Spending time with family is a big one, as is eating delicious treats.

Dear Editor: In December, I decorate my Christmas tree with treasured Christmas ornaments, place a Christmas wreath on my front door, light my Christmas candles, string my Christmas lights and listen to Christmas carols piped everywhere.

Dear Editor: “Kinder Morgan will have to go through a new, revised process.” – Terry Beech, Liberal MP-elect, Burnaby North-Seymour, October 2015. I heard Terry Beech make that promise more than once at all-candidates meetings during the election.
