THIS paper covered Premier Christy Clark's appearance at Vancouver Shipyards on Tuesday morning in the hopes that there would be some solid news tied to the event.

Dear Editor: I totally agree with your March 11 Viewpoint. Pointless Gesture. Over the years I have asked myself why on earth Canada (and, yes, the United States) has a senate whose members, as you clearly point out, hardly deserve a paycheque.

Dear Editor: I write regarding your Feb. 24 story, City Relaxes Industrial Rules.

AT the time, invading Afghanistan seemed like the right thing to do. It was the base for a flurry of murderous terrorist attacks and was ruled by a brutal band of zealots who would sooner see a woman dead than in school.

Dear Editor: I sincerely hope our local municipal engineers take note of your March 7 story, Twas a Dark and Stormy Night. This was an excellent article. I had to chuckle at the quote: "It's difficult to drive on a road here, it's hilly and twisty.

IS it art? That's a question that has plagued public officials for centuries. One person's portrait is another person's pornography. What's abstract art for one is asinine to another.

CANADA'S Senate is one of the strangest institutions that could exist in a modern democracy. It vastly over-represents some parts of the country and brutally shortchanges others.

DEAR EDITOR: I was sooo relieved to learn that the City of North Vancouver has finally managed to secure adequate funding for the sewage treatment plant, and other unavoidable infrastructure repairs and upgrades.
