Get rid of the Senate

Dear Editor: I totally agree with your March 11 Viewpoint. Pointless Gesture. Over the years I have asked myself why on earth Canada (and, yes, the United States) has a senate whose members, as you clearly point out, hardly deserve a paycheque.

I totally agree with your March 11 Viewpoint. Pointless Gesture. Over the years I have asked myself why on earth Canada (and, yes, the United States) has a senate whose members, as you clearly point out, hardly deserve a paycheque. Surely it is enough to have a cabinet that dictates to Parliament. OK, Parliament is a necessity, but the Senate?

The tough question is: How to get rid of it and at what cost?
