Dear Editor: I write regarding your very interesting story Daughter Taken From NV Teen Mother (North Shore News, March 18) about Hanne Andersen's 1983 experience when her baby was taken from her. I didn't know such things happened. How very sad.

Dear Editor: So now North Vancouver City has become a landlord of social (read "affordable") housing.

Dear Editor: Kudos to the young woman on the Westlynn bus who gave a toonie to a foreign student to help cover the fare on a recent Monday morning, only to leave herself short.

Dear Editor: Elizabeth McLenehan's letter defending teachers lacks balance, in my opinion (Education Needs the Best, March 16, North Shore News).

It's the job of the Opposition to oppose, so we can't blame the B.C. New Democrats for calling for the resignation of North Vancouver's Naomi Yamamoto, the Liberal minister for advanced education.

Dear Editor: Your March 16 story, Cellphone GPS Won't Always Help Your Rescuers, is a good reminder of the limits of technology and of the need for preparedness on the trails. A few weeks ago I ran into some folks looking for a lost dog on the trail.

Dear Editor: Like letter writer Lorne E. Dennis, I went to school in classes of 40-45. No special-needs students though. No one on medications or non-prescription drugs either.

CONGRATULATIONS West Vancouver on 100 years of incorporation.

Dear Editor: I am a teacher with 18 years of experience in teaching students in Grades 6 and 7. I am greatly offended by what Lorne E. Dennis had to say in his March 7 letter to the editor , Teachers Never Had It So Good.

"The idea is if there's going to be net-zero bargaining, then it's going to be net-zero teaching.
