The body found on Hollyburn Ridge this week has been identified as Vahid Mahanian, a West Vancouver man with gang ties who disappeared last month. Mahanian, 35, was last seen June 27, when he had lunch with two friends in Vancouver.

POLICE are attempting to identify a woman whose body was found floating in North Vancouvers Lynn Canyon Wednesday evening. A hiker made the grim discovery at about 9 p.m. near the parks suspension bridge.

Police are looking for a man they say passed a counterfeit note at a store in North Vancouver. The investigation dates back to last year, when the suspect paid for a purchase at a Marine Drive store near Capilano Road with a fake bill.
