Family Services of the North Shore is looking for eight to 10 creative and engaged youth to join the Youth Leadership Advisory Board (Youth-LAB).

Members will learn about mental health issues from professional counselors; design and deliver presentations on mental health topics for local organizations, politicians and schools; develop a communication and outreach plan - for both social media and traditional media; and develop leadership, communication, and public speaking skills.

They'll also build relationships with other Youth-LAB members, earn over 90 community service hours and make a difference in their community.

Candidates should be entering grades 10 or 11; connected to Facebook or Twitter; interested in public speaking; and a good writer.

It's ideal for someone who is interested in learning more about mental health and psychology or has seen family, friends, or others deal with depression, anxiety, eating disorders and other issues.
