Dear Editor: I am fed up. Why? Because I am tired of seeing bicyclists breaking so many rules as if they are above the law in their road habits. I have lived and been a large part of West Vancouver for more than 40 years.

Dear Editor: Many people on the North Shore, including, no doubt, some councillors and some developers, will heartily approve of the editorial All Things Old about the loss of below-market rental housing on the North Shore (in the June 21 edition).

A little self-reflection is a good ritual on a birthday. So too with Canada, which turns 148 today. As a nation, we’ve been accused of being a few things over the years: too nice, too careful, too polite and a little boring.

Like any conscientious father living on the edge of the wilderness here on Vancouver’s North Shore, I’ve recently been contemplating two important questions. 1. If I had to pick one, would I rather fight a cougar or a bear? 2.

We join our LGBT friends across the United States in celebrating the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage on Friday.

Hot temperatures, family-friendly activities, food trucks and, of course, fireworks are in store to help celebrate our country’s 148th birthday Wednesday.

Dear Editor: Lately there has been much discussion in the news about the effect of speculators and non-residents on the price of housing in Vancouver city; however, Vancouver is not the only place this is happening.

Dear Editor: My wife and I were both born in North Vancouver, and lived there for most of our lives before retiring to Powell River.

Dear Editor: Re: Seaspan Chairman Handed Driving Ban , June 19 news story Mr. (Kyle) Washington must like the Canadian justice system.
