Dear Editor: Just another morning commute. This morning on my way to work I was, once again, passed too closely. I wish I was joking when I say that the van was a mere one to two inches from the left edge of my handlebars.

Dear Editor: I am concerned about the proposal by CN to destaff the Second Narrows railway lift bridge. As a recreational sailor we transit the bridge occasionally. A situation occurred on our last transit that demonstrates my concern.

ATTORNEY General Suzanne Anton has announced her ministry will take on a full review of the province's antiquated liquor regulations and we say cheers to that. Our laws are among the strictest in Canada and, by extension, the world.

I have been listening to the negativity surrounding the redevelopment of Lynn Valley and I have one thought - I'm tired of it. It might be the summertime sun getting to me, but whenever I hear someone complain, all I can think is how thankful I am.

Re: "A Bridge Too Far" (July 21).

LOOKING back on the 2010 Olympics, there was a lot for us to be proud of, like our haul of gold and our remarkably smooth running of the games. But this week, one other thing stands out in hindsight.

A snowtail butterfly? Seriously? (Page A17, July 17) I am frequently surprised at the lack of what I would consider basic knowledge on the part of news editors and writers.

Re: "Plans for unstaffed rail bridge worries port, district officials" (July 17) Are they nuts? I pass through that span frequently throughout the year and require the span to be raised to have clearance for the mast of my sailboat.

Dear Editor: My 18-year-old daughter had a valuable lesson in kindness recently while riding her bike up the road to Mount Seymour. Near the top of the mountain she had a flat tire.

ROYAL Baby X had a Twitter following long before making his arrival. He had a hashtag and a video gone viral before he even had a name. The royal baby was born on the same day as hundreds of thousands of other children.
