Dear Editor: Re: Schools, traffic and housing affordability. When my mom was a teacher in small-town Saskatchewan during the war, the school board arranged a local home where she could board. Some schools had attached “teacherage” accommodation.

Dear Editor: Re: Businesses Bristle at B-Line Plan , Dec. 7 front-page story. I am excited about the planned B-Line bus service with bus only lanes here on the North Shore.

Dear Editor: There seems to be quite the brouhaha over the new B-Line route coming to the North Shore. Business owners and motorists are upset over coming changes to road lanes, and loss of parking.

Dear Editor: Re: Nice Things , Dec. 7 editorial viewpoint. Your editorial misses the point. You are correct that the North Shore, which pays significant amounts into TransLink, gets very little in return for these funds from TransLink.

Won’t someone please think of the high-achieving children? As report cards are doled out to youngsters (and their parents) this week, you’ll perhaps notice less students are making the honour roll in North Vancouver school district.

We interrupt this headline to bring you the following: Former mayor Michael Smith’s most consistent bitch in his seven-year tenure was that West Vancouverites were taxed too much for TransLink and got too little back.

It’s report card week in local high schools, but a move by the North Vancouver School District to “phase out” the honour roll is getting a failing grade from some parents.

Dear Editor: I write concerning District of North Vancouver council’s Nov. 19 decision to disallow the construction of a 25-unit condominium development on Ridgewood Drive in Edgemont Village.

Dear Editor: Re: Businesses Bristle at B-Line Plan , Dec. 7 front-page story. The recent opposition to the proposed bus lane along Marine Drive, coming from a tiny, vocal minority of the community, is concerning to me.

Dear Editor: Re: North Van Schools Ditching Honour Roll , Dec. 12 front-page story. Many students in my West Vancouver Sentinel Secondary 2013 grad class received honours, including myself.
