This weekend we move our clocks back one hour to standard time. The immediate result will be more light earlier in the morning and less light in the afternoon/early evening.

This week the union representing bus drivers and SeaBus operators issued a 72-hour strike notice. That means if issues aren’t resolved, the rubber could hit the road on some kind of job action starting Friday.

Dear editor: My 12-year-daughter and many other kids -- some of the older children and some younger siblings in their care -- take TransLink’s 211 bus home after school from Sherwood Park Elementary.

Of all the surprises coming out of Monday’s federal foofaraw, one is relatively easy to overlook. Unless you live here. Despite the best hopes of the other guys, the North Shore remains Liberal from Burrard Inlet to Howe Sound.

The federal election is over and it’s time for the country to move on. For many, that might mean going forward by bike. Go By Bike Weeks BC (formerly Bike to Work BC) is on now until Nov. 3.
