British Columbians have been nimble in adapting their individual actions to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our communities over the last ten months, and it has had a big impact.

As the number of COVID-19 cases in this province dramatically escalates, it is difficult not to envision a return of some of the tighter measures we experienced when this pandemic first began.

Dear editor: According to fellow Lynn Valley resident Peter Lovegrove , I am a malcontent because I am at least one person who wrote to North Vancouver District asking Council to consider banning fireworks for individual use.

Dear editor: I just wanted to send out a heartfelt thank you to the young woman who took it upon herself on Remembrance Day to perform the Last Post and Reveille on the soccer field at Boulevard Park.

Dear Editor: Hoorah for Pacific standard time! I was so happy on Oct. 30 to switch from extra light at night to one more hour of morning light. As we move through the fall into winter, how I appreciate that morning light as the days get darker.

There was a moment on Saturday that put a huge smile on my face. It’s a moment I won’t soon forget.

Dear Editor: Re: District of North Van Mulls Ban on Halloween Fireworks, Nov. 4 front page. Coun. Megan Curren says she’s “heard overwhelming support ” for cancelling a long-held tradition on Halloween.

First, the good news. Potential COVID-19 vaccines are showing great promise as they near the end of clinical trials and enter regulatory approvals. The bad news is we are headed for a very bumpy ride while we wait for our date with a needle.

While the NDP waits patiently to return to full government mode, the BC Liberals are beginning a long stay in the political wilderness.
