Dear Editor: It was with disappointment and anger that my wife and I read your article about the West Vancouver Seniors’ Activity Centre Flea Market in your April 29 issue. We expect better reporting from the North Shore News.

Dear Editor: My wife, and friends (three tables of 10), looked forward to the Lynn Valley Gala every year.

Yes means yes. Silence – in the case of the Lower Lonsdale Business Improvement Area – also means yes.

After falling to the back of the pack like a sedated racehorse, B.C.’s minimum wage is racing to the middle. Premier Christy Clark recently announced plans to bump the bottom line up 40 cents Sept. 15., moving the lowest wage to $10.85.

O so long ago, when I first got here, I was gobsmacked. The ocean! The beaches! The mountains! Of course, when you’ve escaped Toronto, where it’s the lake and “the Beaches” and that’s about it, it’s like coming to Valhalla.

This week the province announced it is bringing out some heavy weapons in the fight against mass distraction on the road. Tickets for those nabbed for distracted driving are going up significantly.

Dear Editor: I was saddened to read your article WV Owners Chop Trees to Beat Bylaw in the April 22 North Shore News. What a disgusting display of selfishness. Just because it is legal to do something does not make it right.
