WEST Vancouver's Kim Scraper earned back-to-back Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honours for her outstanding play with the University of Iowa field hockey team in September.

Scraper's big fortnight started Sept. 3-4 when she notched nine points -- four goals and an assist -- in wins over Kent State and the University of Massachusetts. Scraper scored a hat trick and added an assist in a 7-3 win over Kent State before collecting another goal in a 3-0 win over UMass.

She was back at it the following weekend, racking up six more goals in wins over Providence and Brown. In Iowa's 4-1 win over Providence Scraper notched a pair of goals before busting out for four more goals in a 7-0 win over Brown

The West Vancouver secondary grad, a sophomore at Iowa, scored five goals in her freshman season last year.

North Vancouver's Mike Wilkinson teamed up with Fraser Berkhout of St. Catherine's, Ont. to finish 11th overall in men's doubles at the World Rowing Championships held last month in Bled, Slovenia.

The 11th-place finish qualified their boat for the 2012 Olympic Games to be held in London, England. The pair placed fifth in the B final, clocking a time of 6:25.37 to finish five seconds behind the race winners from Estonia.
