North Vancouver - Dear Editor: As a long time North Shore resident I want to thank and compliment Mary Ellen Turpel- Lafond, Keith Baldrey and the North Shore News for bringing this issue to light in Baldrey's Nov.

The news out of Victoria on changes to this province's confusing and outdated liquor control laws is somewhat encouraging. There finally seems to be the appetite in government for movement on some of B.C.

Dear Editor: I attended the Nov. 18 meeting of District of North Vancouver council and would have spoken during the public input if I hadn’t felt intimidated by the majority of the audience.

The Liberals may be celebrating polling success in the four byelections held Monday, but so many disparate factors were at play that it’s too soon to anoint Justin Trudeau as the party’s saviour.
