Dear Editor: Since the Liberals have come to power, they have lowered our taxes. For some people this is good. We can take our money and go south and buy groceries and fuel. But this is a "double negative.

"I'm trying to stay positive but sometimes you have suicidal thoughts because it's been happening for so long." North Vancouver resident Sam Tabei on being eaten alive by bed bugs in his apartment for the past year (from a July 9 news story).

Dear Editor: Re: Gambier Island Woodlots Put on Hold, July 2. I am writing on behalf of the Consulting Foresters of BC to support the B.C.

Anyone who has been paying attention to the evolution of First Nations rights and powers in B.C. over the past 20 years or so should not be surprised by the recent Supreme Court of Canada decision that recognized a specific aboriginal title.

Dear Editor: In response to the July 6 letter to the editor Rising Taxes Wreck Dream, I'd like to point out that the average tax increase on a residential property in 2014 in the district is 2.

What's it take to get a school built? If it's in North Vancouver, apparently these days it involves selling off land of former school sites to raise the money.

Dear Editor: The column Argument Falls Short (May 14) by Todd Major contains incorrect assumptions about the need to control invasive species. Non-native plants and invasive species are not the same thing. Only a few of the nonnative plants in B.C.

Dear Editor: Re: City Asks TransLink For New Depot, June 27. I am responding to both mayors' insinuation that there are no places to build a bus depot in North Vancouver. There is one spot that would be perfect but is now being reclaimed by nature.

Dear Editor: Re: Teen Wants Warnings On Gas Pumps, June 15. We live just by Collingwood school. Twice a day we have real mayhem in our area: hundreds of cars zooming by our driveway, so it is impossible to get out.
