The Sutherland Sabres senior boys finished sixth at the AAA boys provincial basketball championships held March 12-15 at the Langley Events Centre.
The Howe Sound champs, ranked fifth going into the tournament, won their opener against Nanaimo before losing to St. Thomas More in the quarterfinals. They finished with a 2-2 record as Graddy Zubaidi was named a second team all-star.
At the AAAA level 12th-ranked West Vancouver gave fifth-ranked Winston Churchill a scare in their opening game but ultimately fell 87-79. The Highlanders finished with a 2-2 record.
