AAA West Van, AA Sutherland take top spots heading into matchups against Burnaby winners

Senior boys soccer playoffs are in full swing on the North Shore this week with precious provincial berths on the line.

At the AAA level the West Vancouver Highlanders, North Shore league winners, will take on Burnaby Central Tuesday starting at 3 p.m. at Ambleside D with the winner advancing to provincials.

Argyle and Handsworth tied for second in the North Shore AAA league but Argyle came out on top a do-or-die playoff matchup Nov. 5, winning 1-0. The Pipers will next play Burnaby North in another elimination game Tuesday starting at 3:30 p.m. at Sutherland turf.

The loser of West Vancouver vs. Burnaby Central will take on the winner of Argyle vs. Burnaby North Thursday, Nov. 12 with the zone's second and final provincial berth up for grabs.

At the AA level Sutherland took top spot in the North Shore league and will take on Burnaby's Alpha secondary Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Burnaby North with a provincial berth on the line. Rockridge, North Shore No. 2, will travel to Cariboo Hill for a Tuesday matchup starting at 3:30 p.m. The winner of Rockridge vs. Caribpp Hill will play the loser of Sutherland vs. Burnaby North for the zone's final provincial berth Thursday starting at 3:30 p.m., location TBD.
