Thursday is grudge match day on North Shore basketball courts as both the senior girls premier league and senior boys AAA league feature rematches of last years championship finals.
In senior girls action defending North Shore champions Handsworth will travel across town to visit their longtime rivals the Argyle Pipers. The Royals won that one too but the game came right down to the wire. Tomorrows game is the first of two regular season meetings in the next two weeks between the powerhouse teams, both of whom are ranked in the top-5 for AAA teams in the province. Game time is 6 p.m., Jan. 24 at Argyle.
On the boys side its Handsworth versus Carson Graham in a rematch of last years North Shore final. The Eagles outlasted the Royals to win the title last season but this year Handsworth has raced ahead of the pack, compiling a 14-1 record to earn a No. 9-ranking in the province. The Royals are the only North Shore team to make the Top 10 in the latest AAA rankings. Game time is 7:30 p.m., Jan. 24 at Handsworth.
