REPRESENTATIVES of GSL North Shore Football are kicking off the season with their annual football jamboree, Monday, Sept. 3.
According to a written statement, the event, held in North Vancouver's Norgate Park, will also celebrate the inclusion of teams from Vancouver and Richmond in the league this year.
The day begins with younger teams in the flag division playing from 9 to 10: 30 a.m., followed by the two tackle division (peewee and minor) teams scrimmaging from 10: 45 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m.
The Gordon Sturtridge (GSL) North Shore Football League is one of the oldest community football leagues in Canada and currently serves children aged six-13 in both flag and tackle divisions.
Regular season games start this month and are played on Sundays at Norgate Park with championship games played at Confederation Field in late November.
