NORTH Vancouver receiver Paris Jackson has been phased out of the B.C. Lions passing game so far this year but he still found a way to come up big in the team's 32-19 win over Calgary last week at McMahon Stadium.
Jackson, an integral part of the B.C. air attack for the past several seasons, was slowed by injury earlier this season and has not been able to regain his spot in the offence - he has not caught a pass all year. Last Saturday, however, Jackson made a game-changing play on special teams, blocking a third quarter punt that was scooped up by teammate Tim Cronk and run back for a touchdown.
"When you haven't made a play and it's Week 12 of the season, you wonder, 'What's going on with my life and my career, and could this be the end?' " the 31-year-old told Postmedia News. "Good things happen to people who wait. So I'm just trying to be patient. My time will come, and (Saturday) my time came."
This weekend the Lions are in Saskatchewan to face the Roughriders before returning home to battle the Eskimos Sept. 30 in the first game to be played in the renovated BC Place.
