The North Shores Footskills Impact under-10 girls team won the under-11 Premier Division of the Baker Blast soccer tournament held in Bellingham, Wash., last weekend.
The tournaments final game came against a very strong Surrey club and wasn't decided until the last 30 seconds when the Footskills girls piled on the pressure and buried a late goal to seal the victory with a 2-1 win.
Working with Footskills Soccer Development on the North Shore, the girls have been training together for the past three months, competing in various tournaments. They also scored a first-place finish at the White Caps FC Cup held earlier this year.
Team members are Aiko Williams, Jennifer Hashimoto, Danielle Palmer, Mikayla McGowan, Annie DeCotiis, Hannah Battle, Ella Thomas, Sophie Hill, Ashley Stewart, Livi Ahern, Alyssa Scott, Mia Pante, Taleen Markarian and Ella Sunde. Coaches are Jackie Steede and Leah Currie.
