Some real stand up folks braved the waters of Deep Cove and Indian Arm Sunday, Sept. 15 for the third annual Board the Fjord paddleboard race. The race included a 14-kilometre long coarse, a seven-kilometre short course a one-kilometre kids race.

The race included a 14-kilometre long coarse, a seven-kilometre short course a one-kilometre kids race. The big race came down to a sprint finish with Matt Parker beating Norm Hann by just half a second in a time of one hour 32 minutes and 17 seconds. Warren Bruce claimed the short course title in a time of 44:51.3. Nearly 90 racers took part in the event, including 14 in the kids’ race.
