Police are asking drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area

North Vancouver RCMP are investigating a crash that has left a pedestrian and driver injured in a London Drugs parking lot Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot located on the corner of 20th Street and Lonsdale Avenue.

Cpl. Mansoor Sahak said the driver of a black Lexus had struck a post and then landed on a concrete raised barrier. In the process, a person in a wheelchair was also struck.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital, but has minor injuries, Sahak said. The driver is also facing minor injuries.

Sahak said the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called and that a portion of the parking lot has been closed. Fire and ambulance were also on scene, Sahak said.
