Terry Atkinson retired on April Fool’s Day three years ago. “I thought it was appropriate,” he says with a laugh. Being retired means there’s more time to play golf, which he does regularly, and to volunteer.

Like many teens her age, 16-year-old Sahar Zandi Nia has a variety of interests. And with her Grade 10 schoolwork, swimming, piano lessons and cross-country, Sahar is also quite busy.
