In the early 1940s a group of mothers in Lynn Valley decided to start a preschool.

After looking at different buildings as options they settled upon the second Lynn Valley School, as it was close to the streetcar line.

As the building had been used as a storage site for old machinery, a work bee was held to clear, decorate and furnish the building.

The first class was held on May 2, 1945.

In 1962, the preschool was moved to site where it remains today, beside the original Lynn Valley School built in 1907.
