Argyle Secondary will host some of the top senior boys volleyball teams in the province this weekend for a 20-team tournament with games at Argyle and Capilano University.

The Argyle Pipers, the seventh-ranked AAA team in the province, will start the tournament in a “power pool” also featuring Oak Bay (No. 5 AAA), Riverside (No. 9 AAA), and Vernon Christian (No. 1 A).

Preliminary games will run all day Friday with playoffs scheduled for Saturday. Semifinals will be held Saturday at 2:45 p.m. at Argyle with the gold medal final and bronze game played Saturday at 5 p.m.

Argyle took the lead in reviving high school boys volleyball on the North Shore, in 2017 becoming the first North Shore public school to field a senior boys team in more than two decades.

This year there is a North Shore senior boys league featuring four schools: Argyle, Bodwell, Brockton and Sentinel.
