Two-acre Great Bear Rainforest lot listed for $79,000

This could be a great place to park your RV

An opportunity to own one of the 6.4 million hectares that make up the Great Bear Rainforest has just come up, and for what seems to be a bargain.

The government of B.C. touts the rainforest as being "nearly the size of Ireland," and while many of the areas within it are protected and off limits to ownership, urbanites in Southern B.C. might be surprised to learn that entire cities (such as Prince Rupert) are within this zone.

LandQuest has a listing for a two-acre lot outside of Hagensborg (near Bella Coola) for $79,000 which looks out onto a mountainside.

The listing notes that the lot is located along the power line, has a drilled well, and that the two-acre lot has a half of an acre that's a level, cleared space.

It's 20 minutes from the public wharf in Bella Coola, two small temporary structures are on it now, and it could be a great place to build a cabin or to park an RV.
