North Vancouver - Dear Editor: 'd like to reach out and say a big thanks to the two Good Samaritans who stopped to help my 84-year-old mother when she fell at 15th Street and Eastern Avenue on the night of Dec. 22.

Dear Editor: Your recent story about hit-andrun drivers and four pedestrians hit at crosswalks since October has prompted me to write.

Dear Editor: Nowadays, Transportation Minister (Todd) Stone's talk about making the tough decisions with B.C. Ferries is taking on a new tone.

Dear Editor: I note that recent issues of the North Shore News have ads from local districts to remind business owners and pet owners to renew their licences. I never saw a reminder for cyclists to renew. Oh yes, I forgot.

Dear Editor: I am a member of the Grandmothers Advocacy Network and I also co-chair the Education Working Group for that network. We advocate on behalf of grandmothers in sub-Saharan Africa and also on behalf of their orphaned grandchildren.

TransLink is an organization everyone loves to hate. This week, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation highlighted yet another reason why when it pointed out that bus drivers pressed a "fare not paid" button 2.7 million times in 2013.
