It was World Mental Health Day earlier this week, a day meant to spread awareness by increasing knowledge and understanding of the causes, nature, impact, prevention and management of mental health issues.

Dear Editor: I am writing this letter in order to draw attention to an issue that I think is very important to all of us living here in North Vancouver.

With local elections just around the corner, North Shore News reporters are busy with a dizzying round of all-candidates meetings. Like them or hate them, the forums are a staple of election campaigns.

We Vote North Shore is a group of organizations that believe in citizen engagement, including the importance of voting in democratic elections and working to encourage non-partisan voter education and engagement.

Dear Editor: In thinking about North Vancouver’s traffic situation, consider this: The Ironworkers Memorial bridge opened in 1960.

Dear Editor: On Friday afternoon (Oct. 5) while leaving an underground parkade in Lower Lonsdale I absentmindedly left a package of papers, some loose and some in a plastic envelope, on the trunk of my car.

The announcement that LNG Canada is giving a green light to a mammoth $40-billion investment is great news for the B.C. economy.

Accepted wisdom is that people don’t get engaged in elections until about two weeks before voting day.

Dear Editor : I wish to thank the person or persons who took the initiative of calling 911 on Friday, Sept. 20 at Caulfeild Shopping Centre in the late afternoon. Thank you so much for saving my life.
