Masks are no longer required in most indoor settings in B.C. but a wide majority of North Shore residents say they plan to continue wearing them, at least some of the time.

North Shore News polled 1,463 readers and asked the question: Will you continue to wear a mask even after the mandate has ended?

The poll ran from March 10 to 15. Of the 1,463 votes, we can determine that 546 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

Yes, in all situations. Dropping the mandate was a mistake. 19.05 % local, 18.46 % total
Maybe for a little while, but not forever. 15.93 % local, 13.74 % total
I'll only wear one in places that are crowded or when I know I'm near vulnerable people. 51.65 % local, 41.70 % total
No, I am done with them. 13.37 % local, 26.11 % total

The indoor mask mandate expired on March 11 for most places, although long-term care and other health facilities still require them.

Results are based on an online study of adult North Shore News readers that are located in North Vancouver and West Vancouver. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 2.55%, 19 times out of 20.
