Dear Editor:
We would like to congratulate and thank the District of West Vancouver for doing some work on Leyland Park. It is a small park at the end of Leyland Street on Sentinel Hill.
The parks department greatly improved the walking trail, and put up an information sign, explaining who Mr. Leyland was. He was the reeve (mayor) and councillor at the time of construction of the Lions Gate Bridge and the sale of the British Properties (1920s-1960s).
Thank you to the DWV parks department for their good work.
Peter Ackhurst (on behalf of residents of the surrounding streets)
