Re: City of North Van Cyclists Can Roll on Through; Dismounts No Longer Required at Crosswalks, Dec. 17 news story.
Just read your news report on the City of North Vancouver council (decision) on this with incredulity. What are the councillors and mayor smoking to even consider this? It is called a crosswalk. So they should walk and give drivers a chance to see them coming.
Never mind most drivers going through red lights and stop signs. Where are the traffic cops these days? Traffic rules are and have been in place to protect all participants on the road.
Cyclists are not more entitled than the others.
Insanity to even consider this.
