Dear Editor:
I read with great pleasure the article DNV Halts Growth.
I have lived in the district since 1965 and have seen many changes, most of them positive, yet lately I have noticed traffic congestion that rivals what we endured at Hastings and Cassiar in the ’80s.
There is little doubt, despite what the pro development councillor says, it is because of density. It’s simple physics: density = mass over volume. We keep increasing the mass, and there is no more land, so density increases.
As much as we’d like to believe all the “new” people will take transit or bike to work, this is just not the case. I applaud Coun. Jim Hanson for his stance. This is exactly what he promised when he campaigned, and is the reason I, and thousands of others, voted for him.
Very refreshing to see a politician keep his election promises.
