Little out, Muri in as DNV Metro Vancouver rep

Coun. Lisa Muri is set to replace Mayor Mike Little as the District of North Vancouver’s municipal director to the Metro Vancouver regional board following a unanimous vote at a May 27 council meeting.

Little, who will now serve as alternate director, suggested he and Muri switch spots due to the challenges of sitting on five committees.

“It’s an incredible amount of time and I think it’s dividing my attention from things that I need to be dealing with on the transportation side and here at the municipality.”

While he voted along with his colleagues, Coun. Jordan Back expressed muted misgivings about the change.

“I think, as we have only one director position on that board, my preference would be the mayor, just because you were elected to represent the community in that regard,” he said.

However, Back said he understood the time commitment might be too great.
