Should District of North Vancouver council swap nine single-detached homes for a townhome development in Lions Gate?

That question may be front and centre as council considers replacing nine single-family homes with 96 owned townhomes in nine three-storey buildings on the 1900 blocks of Glenaire Drive and Bell Isle Place.

Densifying the site, which is located on the north side Bell Isle Park and bordered by Fullerton Avenue to the east, would require an amendment to the district’s official community plan.

The proposal includes 182 underground parking stalls and 96 spots for bicycles.

Staff began reviewing the detailed application July 25. No date for council consideration has been set.
