On Thursday December 6th, there was a full house at North Vancouvers Handsworth Secondary for opening round action in the 2012 North Shore Invitational Basketball Tournament as the Handsworth Royals hosted the Lord Byng Grey Ghosts.

On Wednesday December 5th, play continued at North Vancouvers Argyle Secondary in the 2012 Telus Basketball Classic senior girls division as the West Vancouver Highlanders faced the Fleetwood Park Dragons.

On Thursday December 6th, opening round action in the 2012 North Shore Invitational Basketball Tournament continued at North Vancouvers Handsworth Secondary as the Collingwood Cavaliers faced the Byrne Creek Bulldogs.

NORTH Vancouver's Amanda Bird scored the game-winning goal as the Princeton Tigers defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels 3-2 to win the first NCAA Div. 1 National Field Hockey Championship in team history last month in Norfolk, Va.
