WEST Vancouver buddies Morgan Rielly and Griffin Reinhart, now forever linked as the Hollyburn Huskies teammates who went fourth and fifth in the 2012 NHL draft, will reunite this month for the 2012 Canada-Russia Challenge.

The two defencemen were recently named to the Canadian national junior team that will represent the country in a four-game series that is being played to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the famous 1972 Summit Series. The Canadian juniors will battle the Russians Aug. 9 and 10 in Yaroslavl, Russia before returning home for two more games Aug. 13 and 14 in Halifax.

Hockey Canada selected 28 players born in 1993 or '94 for the series. Aside from paying tribute to the iconic series that lives on as one of the biggest moments in Canadian sports history, the 2012 Challenge will also serve as the first step in the identification process of players for the Canadian National Junior Team for the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships which will be played Dec. 26, 2012 to Jan. 5, 2013 in Ufa, Russia.

All four games in the Canada-Russia Challenge will be broadcast on TSN.
