On the afternoon of Saturday September 17th, a boisterous crowd was on hand for the 2011 Senior Varsity Buchanan Bowl Football Classic at North Vancouver's Confederation Field between the Handsworth Royals and the Carson Graham Eagles.
Handsworth won last years North Shore showdown in a squeaker and with 2011 being the Bowls 25th Anniversary, Carson Graham wanted the trophy back.
North Vancouver Mayors Darrell Mussatto and Richard Walton were joined by Linda Buchanan representing the Buchanan family tournament chair Larry Donohoe. The mayors opened the game with a ceremonial kickoff and the anthem was sung by 11 year old Olivia Steele Falconer.
