North Shore trio back on national ski team

THE North Shore will once again be well-represented on the world's fastest ski slopes next year as three local athletes were recently named to the team that will wear the Maple Leaf speed suit for the 2012-13 season.

THE North Shore will once again be well-represented on the world's fastest ski slopes next year as three local athletes were recently named to the team that will wear the Maple Leaf speed suit for the 2012-13 season.

On the speed racing side North Vancouver natives Manuel Osborne-Paradis and Robbie Dixon are both back for more. Two-time Olympian Osborne-Paradis did not compete during the 2011-12 season as he recovered from a knee injury suffered in early 2011. Dixon, meanwhile, came within a whisker of scoring his first World Cup podium finish last season, placing fourth in Super G in Beaver Creek, Colo.

West Vancouver native Michael Janyk will again lead the way for the country's talented and experienced slalom team.

The 2013 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships are due to be in held in Schladming, Austria Feb. 4-17, 2013.
