NORTH Shore teams became B-list stars at the B.C. Soccer Adult Provincial Championships held last weekend in Burnaby, winning titles in both the men's and women's B Cup finals.

On the women's side the North Shore Girls Soccer Club Impact won the B Cup final, coming back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Aldergrove Adrenalin 2-1. Aldergrove opened the scoring early in the second half but it didn't take long for the Impact to respond with a pair of Capilano University players connecting for the equalizer. Faith Williams stripped the ball off of an Aldergrove defender and sent Tasha Donoghue on a breakaway which she calmly converted.

With overtime looming the Impact went ahead for good as a shot from Kristen Miller-Tait took a deflection and sailed over the Aldergrove goalie and into the net. From there the Impact held on for the win with Donoghue earning game MVP honours.

On the men's side NVFC Campobasso concluded a stellar season with a 2-0 win over the Surrey FC Coyotes in the B Cup final. Campobasso held on for the championship win despite losing a man to a red card during the game. Earlier this season the team won Division 2C in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League to move up to the first division for next season. That makes two straight seasons that the team has been promoted - Campobasso was formed in 2009 and began play in the VMSL's third division.

A third North Shore team went home empty-handed from provincial championship day. West Van FC lost 1-0 to Westside FC in the men's masters final. West Van was the defending provincial champion and also won the Western Canadian Masters Soccer Championships in 2011.
