Local sports stars gathered recently at the West Vancouver Community Centre for the annual North Shore Sport Awards.
The winners' list was headlined by Olympian Georgia Simmerling who won the open female category and gymnast Scott Morgan and world junior hockey hero Sam Reinhart who shared the open male award. Both Simmerling and Morgan, a multiple medal winner at last year's Commonwealth Games, were on hand to receive their hardware.
Other winners included Emily Overholt, another Commonwealth Games star, in the junior femal category, multi-sport sensation Cole Keffer in junior male, and the AAA-championship winning Argyle Pipers senior girls vollyball squad in the team category.
