North Vancouver's Griffins Boxing will host the famed B.C. Golden Gloves tournament this weekend, a competition sanctioned by the Boxing B.C. Association that was first held in 1939.

The champions of this event will have a chance to represent B.C. in the Canadian Golden Gloves tournament scheduled for later this year in Cornwall, Ont.
Several B.C. boxing stars have taken part in the Golden Gloves tournament, including
1984 Olympic bronze medalist Dale Walters and local boxing legend and gym owner Manny Sobral.
The action starts Friday at 7 p.m. at Griffins Boxing Fitness located at 326 East Esplanade Ave. in North Vancouver. Tickets are available at the door or pre-sale at the club. For more information visit griffinsboxing.com.
