The Seycove secondary grad finished third in the league in scoring, racking up seven goals in 12 games. This was Giezen's second stint with the Blues. He played in 2008, helping Cap-ilano win provincial and national titles while earning B.C. rookie of the year and first-team all-star honours.
Giezen was joined on the 2012 all-star list by Sutherland grad Gianmarco Pensato, a midfielder who was named to the second team. Giezen and Pen-sato were two bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season for the Blues as the men missed the Pacwest playoffs, finishing in seventh place with a record of two wins, three ties and nine losses.
The Capilano women also struggled this season, finishing in eighth place with a 1-4-9 record. None of the Blues women were named to the first or second all-star team.

North Vancouver rugby player Jess Neilson is seeking the public's support in an effort to help at-risk youths living in Bangkok slums. Neilson, a Carson Graham secondary student and rugby team member, also plays for Meraloma Rugby Club and is a member of the B.C. U18 women's provincial team.
This is the second year Neilson has organized a rugby cleat drive, having partnered with former national team player Eddie Evans. Evans runs the Nak Suu program in Bangkok, which targets at-risk children living in five slum communities, aiming to make a positive impact on their lives through rugby training and life skills development.
Last year, Neilson collected 80 pairs of cleats to send to the Nak SuuTigers (Thai for "noble warrior") and hopes to increase her donations to more than 100 this year, she says.
The drive will run from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3. Cleats will be accepted at Carson Graham as well as the Meraloma clubhouse at Connaught Park in Kitsilano. One final drop-off opportunity will be at the Year End True Blue Mini Jamboree at UBC on Nov. 18. Small cleats (children's sizes) are preferred, but all donations in good shape will be accepted.
