North Vancouver soccer player Brandon Torresan recently competed in the 15th Danone Nations Cup Canadian national final, held earlier this summer in Montreal, according to a press release. Torresan’s Western Canadian team lost to Eastern Canada, which becomes Team Canada and will compete against the world’s best U12 soccer players at the Danone Nations Cup international finals in Morocco this October. However, in keeping with Danone Nations Cup tradition, one outstanding player is selected from the losing side to join Team Canada and Torresan was this year’s chosen player. He is preparing to join Team Canada as they travel to Morocco this fall. Before departing, the team will train together at an intensive camp in Montreal, under the supervision of head coach, Dean Howie.
