Major Midget League championship streak snapped at five

The dynasty finally came to an end for the North Shore/Burnaby-based Vancouver Northwest Giants as they fell two games to zero to the Kelowna Rockets in the championship final of the B.C. major Midget League played at the Burnaby Winter Club on the weekend.

The series loss snapped a string of five consecutive league championships for the Giants. The Rockets claimed one-goal victories in both contests, winning Game 1 by a score of 2-1 and clinching the series with a 4-3 victory in Game 2.
