Carson Graham girls grab B.C. wrestling titles

THE Carson Graham girls team grabbed the provincial title at the 2012 B.C. High School Wrestling Championships held in Penticton Feb. 23-25, leading a North Shore contingent that included three individual champions.

THE Carson Graham girls team grabbed the provincial title at the 2012 B.C. High School Wrestling Championships held in Penticton Feb. 23-25, leading a North Shore contingent that included three individual champions.

The Carson girls were lead by Arielle Marsel-Mackenzie who won the 54-kilogram division and Cholena Horne who took home gold in the 57-kg division.

The other North Shore champion was Windsor secondary's Dallan Bhatti who beat all challengers in the boys 60-kg division.

Three North Shore wrestlers took home silver medals, including 48-kg Oscar Bulaqui of St. Thomas Aquinas on the boys side and Carson Graham teammates Brandy Perry in the 60-kg division and Gayle Fearnley in the 75-kg division. STA's Karah Bulaqui added a bronze in the girls 40-kg division to complete the North Shore medal count.
