Big haul at B.C. Summer Games

NORTH Shore athletes scored big at the B.C. Summer Games held July 20-22 in Surrey to help Zone 5 VancouverSquamish finish third in the medal standings.

NORTH Shore athletes scored big at the B.C. Summer Games held July 20-22 in Surrey to help Zone 5 VancouverSquamish finish third in the medal standings.

North Vancouver rower Brynn Danvers led the way with a pair of gold medals, winning the girls doubles time trial and double elimination races with partner Madison Mailey of Lions Bay. West Vancouver track and field racer Kenneth Schultze also scored multiple medals, winning gold in the 100-m hurdles and silver in the 300-m race and 200-m hurdles.

In total, North Vancouver and West Vancouver athletes were in on 14 gold, 18 silver and 12 bronze medal wins as individuals or as members of a team.
