North Vancouver's Shaun McGuinness was recently named the provincial coach of Basketball BC, a position that will see him working with coaches of all levels throughout the province.
McGuinness has coached hoops for more than 25 years, including the past 10 years as an assistant with the UBC women, 10 years with various provincial teams and a new position with the recently launched North Shore Training Centre Academy run out of West Vancouver secondary.
"Shaun's vast experience with coaching at all levels will be of great use as he determines the needs of our coaching community and develops strategies to service those needs" said Basketball BC executive director Lawrie Johns in a release. "Great programs necessitate great coaches and Shaun will play a pivotal role in this part of our plan."
