CAPILANO University's Ryan Lenarduzzi, AllBall Academy elite student Drew Urquhart and AllBall founder Dwayne Selby hit the hardwood in anticipation of a new basketball academy that will run out of Capilano. The academy is a partnership between the university and AllBall, a Vancouver-based training program. Starting this spring, Capilano will serve as a basketball training centre every weekend and tryouts will be held for elite teams that will travel to both local and international tournaments in the summer. This weekend there will be a free introductory clinic and open house for boys and girls at the Capilano Sportsplex. Grades 5-7 will meet 9 a.m.-noon and grades 8-12 from 1 to 4 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Attendees are asked to bring their own ball with their name marked on it.
