Police are warning the public that buying leather coats out of the trunk of a car might be a bad idea after a resident lost $600 in a scam that bears a striking resemblance to a fraud from last year.

North Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses to a brawl that broke out in Lower Lonsdale last week after a car owner came forward to claim his vehicle had been victimized in the scuffle. The alleged donnybrook started just after 8 p.m.

The mountain biker who died from his injuries while on a trail in West Vancouver has been identified. Jonathan Tobias Pilley died May 7 from serious injuries while riding with friends on a trail known as The Coiler on Cypress Mountain.

ANOTHER North Shore resident has been charged in connection with last summer's Stanley Cup hockey riot. Charges of participating in a riot and break and enter were approved this week against 19-year-old Julian Eiers.
